Anna Ferrer's biography

Born in a small town in Essex (in the southeast of Great Britain) in 1947, her adventurous temperament leads her to undertake a long journey to India, where she decides to stay to complete her studies.

In early 1965, she begins work as a reporter on the news magazine "Current", and three years later she meets Vicente Ferrer during an interview. From that moment on, Anna, at the side of Vicente, whom she marries in 1970, and the poorest of the poor, finds a reason to fight that will cause her to leave her job as a journalist and start a new life in the Anantapur district (Andhra Pradesh).

Smart, capable and extremely aware of the situation of women in India, Anna has been and still is one of the cornerstones of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and has become a strong voice in the struggle for the rights of untouchable women.

Currently, Anna Ferrer is president of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and Program Director of the VFF in India, responsible for setting the strategy of the organization and coordinating the management team that carries out the various programs.
